Aquabears Swimming Club - was formed in 1979 in response to the need for high level competitive training, as a local center of Excellence in Rochdale. The club coach Clive Rushton was himself a former International Swimmer and is currently Performance Director in New Zealand. The club also has a very successful Masters group with several national and International record holders. Any one joining the club must take out an annual membership for insurance purposes, and there are several different levels that are available, please ask for details. The club is run on a voluntary, non-profit basis and is truly dedicated to the excellence of swimming. Any surplus funds raised are used to maintain standards and to help keep fees to a minimum, and we actively encourage alternative fund raising activities, please feel free to make suggestions that could help.
