| C.A.T.S. was formed in 1994 by Louise & Paul Cohen, to provide an education in stage skills and experience in theatrical performance for children aged between 8 & 16 years. The society is based in Bolton and normally stages one production per year, usually at The Theatre Church in Astley Bridge. C.A.T.S. is operated strictly as a non-profit making organisation. Revenues are derived from ticket sales, subscriptions from the membership & other fundraising activities. As anyone who has staged a musical will know, expenditure on performance rights, costumes, rehearsal facilities etc. can be extensive, but in the event of surplus revenue all funds are re-invested.

| Established in 1948, Farnworth Little Theatre is an amateur theatre group situated just outside Bolton. Our first full length play 'Night Must Fall', was presented in 1949, and since then we have offered a continuous programme of up to five full length productions a year. We are totally self-supporting, financing the running and upkeep of the theatre through box office takings, membership fees, charitable donations and regular fund-raising events. The theatre is run by volunteers and therefore offers many opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in a range of activities, from acting to wardrobe, lighting and sound to publicity and set-building.
